Juventus Pursues Brentford and Atalanta Defenders Kayode and Scalvini

Juventus has intensified its interest in defenders Michael Kayode and Giorgio Scalvini as the club aims to bolster its defensive options for the next season. Both Italian internationals have been identified as priority targets, irrespective of whether Juventus secures Champions League football.

According to reports from Tuttosport via CalcioMercato, the profiles of Kayode and Scalvini have surged up Juventus's shortlist in recent days. Currently at Brentford, Kayode is familiar with Serie A, having previously developed in Fiorentina’s academy. Scalvini, an established figure in Atalanta’s defense, is considered one of the most highly esteemed young defenders in Italian football.

Giorgio Scalvini, a key player for Atalanta BC, has a valuation between €35 and €40 million. The club, known as La Dea, is open to receiving offers around that price point, and Juventus is ready to initiate a concrete proposal. Luciano Spalletti, who previously worked with Scalvini as Italy's national team coach, has expressed admiration for Scalvini's versatility, noting his comfort in both a back three and back four formations, as well as his composed play on the ball.

On the other hand, Kayode is expected to cost about €30 million. This lower figure still represents a considerable investment for Juventus, whose summer budget is closely tied to their final league standing. Notably, acquiring both players would help Juventus comply with UEFA’s homegrown regulations for Champions League squad registration, a critical aspect of the club's strategic planning.

As Juventus prepares for its final two matches against Fiorentina and Torino, they sit comfortably but must remain vigilant, with AC Milan, AS Roma, and Como all within reach in the league standings.
