Real Madrid Faces Internal Chaos Ahead of El Clasico

Real Madrid finds itself in turmoil ahead of a crucial El Clasico against Barcelona, scheduled for Sunday. In response to the incident, club president Florentino Perez convened an emergency meeting with coaching staff, head coach Alvaro Arbeloa, and team captain Dani Carvajal. Real Madrid issued two statements, with the first announcing disciplinary actions against both players, while the second provided a medical update, confirming Valverde had suffered a concussion and would require 10 to 14 days of recovery, thus missing the El Clasico.

Valverde expressed concern over rumors spreading, attributing them to the pressure surrounding a trophy-less season. The club subsequently announced that both players had apologized and were fined 500,000 euros each.

Adding to the turbulence, defender Alvaro Carreras addressed rumors alleging a separate disagreement with teammate Antonio Rudiger, denying any severity and asserting that his relationship with the team was solid.

Tensions also surfaced regarding star player Kylian Mbappe, whose recent trip to Sardinia during his recovery from a hamstring injury drew criticism. Despite the trip being sanctioned by the club, images of Mbappe on a yacht during a match against Espanyol frustrated fans, leading to an online petition titled "Mbappe out," which gained over 46 million signatures. Arbeloa stated that a decision about Mbappe's participation in the upcoming match would be made later.

The ongoing issues have raised doubts about the leadership of head coach Alvaro Arbeloa, who took over in January after Xabi Alonso's brief tenure. With only four matches left in the season, Arbeloa's primary objective is to restore order and improve team performance as the season nears its end.
