Newsroom

Tyrese Martin has recently become a new player for Barça. The team has continued to shape its project, which just weeks ago had minimal components, and is now beginning to form something much more recognizable. The latest addition to the roster for the 2026-27 season is Tyrese Martin, who was announced by the Blaugrana team as a scorer with NBA DNA for the exterior rotation of coach Aleksander Sekulic. Martin has signed a one-year contract with Barça, marking him as the ninth new player of the team this season, joining previous signings like Josh Nebo, Justin Robinson, Olivier Nkamhoua, Umoja Gibson, Agustin Ubal, Stanley Umude, Olek Balcerowski, and head coach Aleksander Sekulic.
At 27 years old, Barça represents Martin's first experience in Europe. The new Barça player arrives with a background of 122 NBA games, distributed among the Atlanta Hawks (9), Brooklyn Nets (97), and Philadelphia 76ers (9). Last season, he divided his time between the Nets and the Sixers, finishing with an average of 6.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists. The previous year, in the 2024-25 season, Martin had his best NBA season with averages of 8.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2 assists in 60 games for the Nets, including 11 as a starter. This season, he achieved his scoring peak in the NBA, with 30 points against the Suns in a game where he hit eight three-pointers.
Martin was selected as the 51st pick in the 2022 Draft and has also had experience in the G League. Last year, during three games for the Delaware Blue Coats, he averaged 31 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 6.3 assists. Due to his gameplay, it is likely that he will adapt quickly to basketball in Europe.
