The WNBA announced the first return of fan voting for the 2026 All-Star Game on June 17, 2026, revealing significant shifts in early voting results. A'ja Wilson, the reigning MVP and top performer averaging 25.6 points, nine rebounds, and 3.1 assists this season, led the voting with 308,249 votes. In contrast, Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, who had topped the first round of returns last year with 515,993 votes, saw her number drastically drop to 253,602, placing her fifth this year.
This year’s totals showed a clear decline across the board, with players collectively receiving over two million fewer votes compared to 2025. The voting returns suggest a possible change in the voting process rather than a decline in fan interest. In second place, Dallas Wings' Paige Bueckers garnered 298,027 votes, while other notable players included Aliyah Boston and Breanna Stewart.
Here are the top 10 vote getters from the first round of returns:

Fan voting, which contributes 50% to the final tally for selecting the 10 starters, remains open through June 27, with fans permitted to submit one ballot per day. The players and the media will each comprise 25% of the final vote tally.
Following the voting, players will be ranked by position within each voting group, with the highest-scoring four guards and six frontcourt players subsequently named All-Star starters. The coaches, who cannot vote for their own players, will select the 12 reserves.
The 2026 WNBA All-Star Game is scheduled for July 25 in Chicago, marking the second time the city and the Sky organization will host the event.
