Cagliari officially signs Fazzini from Fiorentina

Cagliari has officially signed Jacopo Fazzini from Fiorentina on July 13, 2026. The transfer is structured as a loan with an option to buy for a total of €8 million. Harry Winks from Leicester City is also expected to join the club soon. This summer, Cagliari has been very active in the transfer market, especially after securing their coach Fabio Pisacane on a new and improved contract.

Fazzini and Winks arrived at the airport on the same day, where they were welcomed by media and supporters before proceeding to complete their medical tests. The club confirmed in a statement that Fazzini has signed on loan with an option to purchase at the end of the season from Fiorentina. It has been widely reported that the total transfer cost will amount to around €8 million.

Jacopo Fazzini, who originally came through the Empoli youth academy, was sold to Fiorentina in the summer of 2025 for €9.3 million. However, following the arrival of Paolo Vanoli as coach, Fazzini saw a decrease in his playing time and subsequently was not favored by new coach Fabio Grosso. In contrast, Winks was eager to leave Leicester City after their recent relegation to the English equivalent of Serie C.
