James Hopes, the fast-bowling coach for PBKS, maintained a calm demeanor in response to questions about the team's bowling, suggesting that minor adjustments were necessary. However, fellow teammates Piyush Chawla and Abhinav Mukund highlighted that the match served as a significant wake-up call, specifically pointing to the concerning form of their premier fast bowler, Arshdeep Singh.

Chawla expressed concern, noting that Arshdeep's capacity to deliver effective yorkers during crucial phases, usually a strength, seems to be fluctuating. Despite acknowledging that some deliveries were intentionally aimed wide, both he and Mukund felt that Arshdeep's game plan seemed off in recent outings.

In a concerning display against RR, Arshdeep allowed 68 runs in four overs, highlighting his struggles—15 runs in one over during the powerplay and 22 in another, only further underscoring his inefficacy with the new ball. While there have been exceptional performances, such as his 3 for 22 against the Mumbai Indians, he has frequently faltered, averaging nearly 11 runs per over.
