Russell reflected on his challenging months, stating, "It feels like a long time ago, to be honest. It's been a tough couple of months with some really tricky races that felt like everything was going against me." As he prepared for the races in Canada and Barcelona, Russell emphasized the need for resilience to bounce back from a low point in the season. After securing pole positions and the victory in Austria, he expressed pride in his achievements, especially on a track he believed did not particularly suit his driving style. "I’m really, really proud," he said.

Russell faced several challenges this season, including unfortunate circumstances in China and Japan that allowed Antonelli to build momentum. An incident in Miami saw him finished off the pace, while in Canada, Russell’s battery failure led to his retirement after initially leading the race. He also experienced difficulties in Monaco with associated penalties and a lack of pace as Antonelli excelled. However, he eventually found positive outcomes in Spain, securing pole after Antonelli retired just after overtaking him.

Acknowledging the mental toll these races took, Russell admitted, "The tough races definitely test you psychologically... these last two weekends have been vitally important to remind myself I can do it." His performance in Austria reinstated his confidence, and he looked forward to the upcoming race at Silverstone, where he expected enthusiastic support from home fans.

Russell credited his team's analytical efforts for helping him pinpoint areas of improvement. Team principal Toto Wolff highlighted the psychological elements at play, sharing that he advised Russell to "just drive" during qualifying, emphasizing the importance of staying present and focusing on performance rather than overthinking strategy or competition.
