Dodgers end seven-game losing streak with 2-1 win

PHOENIX -- The Dodgers ended their seven-game losing streak with a 2-1 victory in 10 innings at Chase Field on Saturday night. This marked their first win in a week and ended a season-high skid, matching the team's longest losing streak since July 2025.

For the second consecutive night, closer Edwin Díaz faltered with a one-run lead in the bottom of the ninth inning, but this time it did not affect the outcome for the Dodgers. The game featured a pitchers' duel between Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Brandon Pfaadt. Yamamoto pitched 5 2/3 innings with 107 pitches, while Pfaadt allowed just two infield singles and a walk across seven innings.

The game remained scoreless until Kyle Tucker hit a solo home run off reliever Jonathan Loáisiga to lead off the eighth inning. In response, the Dodgers managed to rally with two runners on and one out, but Shohei Ohtani and Andy Pages struck out, leaving the runners stranded.

With a one-run lead heading into the final inning, the Dodgers faced pressure to close the game. Both Tanner Scott and Díaz had pitched the previous night, and Díaz had experienced a blown save on a walk-off homer by Ryan Waldschmidt. Scott redeemed himself by retiring the side in the eighth, but Díaz struggled again, allowing the tying run to score via back-to-back triples. However, he managed to strand the potentially winning run on third, ending the inning tied.

In the tenth, the Dodgers were finally able to scratch a run across and take the lead. Meanwhile, left-hander Jack Dreyer came in and pitched a scoreless bottom of the inning, securing the victory and snapping the team's losing streak.
