Four Players Join Black Queens Camp Ahead of WAFCON
Newsroom

Four additional players have been invited to join the 22 previously called up for the Black Queens camp in Accra. The new players are goalkeeper Osman Huzeima from Jonina Football Academy, Diana Amoako from Ampem Darkoa Ladies, and Mavis Owusu from Fomeget GSK in Turkey. Their addition to the team followed a successful screening conducted by Black Queens B coach Yusif Basigi.
This selection came after a two-day assessment that was monitored by head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren. The training program for Black Queens B was aimed at identifying outstanding talents that could strengthen the main team.
Portugal-based Louisa Animwaa is also set to join the Black Queens squad after successfully completing her season with Valadares Gaia. All the invited players will join the rest of the squad as camping begins on June 1, in preparation for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
This camping program is part of the ongoing initiatives by the Ghana Football Association to ensure that the Black Queens remain active and competitive as they gear up for WAFCON 2026. Players are expected to report to camp in the following days during the international assignments coinciding with the FIFA women’s window.
The full squad will be announced closer to the commencement of the camp.
