Mukiele Mulere scores as Sunderland sink Tottenham Hotspur

Sunderland vs Tottenham Hotspur

The result means the 14th game in a row without a win for Tottenham Hotspur.

The second-half goal from Mukiele Mulere was to be the only goal of the game when Sunderland won 1-0 at home to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

The first half finished 0-0 and it took until the 61st minute before Nordi Mukiele netted, with an assist by Habib Diarra, to make it 1–0 for Sunderland, a goal that decided the game.

It leaves Sunderland in 10th place and that Tottenham Hotspur are in 18th place.

"I think we played a good game but not enough to win. We didn't deserve to lose the game but we have to accept and have to move on," Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi said.

"We played a good game but we are suffering in this moment. We have to be stronger because we have the quality to come out from this difficult moment," he added.

Sunderland play Aston Villa on 19 April, Nottingham Forest on 24 April and Wolverhampton Wanderers (away) on 2 May. Tottenham Hotspur's next opponents are Brighton & Hove Albion on 18 April, Wolverhampton Wanderers on 25 April and Aston Villa (away) on 2 May.
