South Korean captain Son Heung-min disclosed that every World Cup match is crucial, indicating that the team will be willing to stake their lives on it. South Korea faced the Czech Republic in the opening fixture of Group A on Saturday, June 11, 2026.

Approaching his fourth World Cup, Son noted that he treats each game with absolute focus and excitement akin to his very first tournament.
