Roma sees €28m plus bonus offer rejected by Feyenoord

Roma has not reached an agreement with Feyenoord for Givairo Read, as their offer of €28 million plus add-ons was rejected. Reports indicate that negotiations will continue despite this setback. The Giallorossi previously expressed optimism that their latest proposal, which included €28 million and a 10 percent share of any future transfer fee, would be sufficient to secure the player. However, both Voetbal International and Sky Sport Italia confirmed on the evening of August 3, 2026, that Feyenoord turned down this offer.

Feyenoord's asking price for Read remains at €30 million, and amid interest from other clubs, including Nottingham Forest, the Dutch team believes they can achieve this amount. Roma, however, remains committed to the negotiations, which will also address commission and various bonuses to increase the overall offer.

Givairo Read already agreed on personal terms with the Serie A club and is keen to join Gian Piero Gasperini's squad for the Champions League. The 20-year-old right-back, who turned 20 in June, also has the versatility to play on the left side if needed.

During the previous season, Read scored two goals and provided three assists in 20 competitive appearances for Feyenoord. Although Roma's initial bid was €25 million, the revised offer reflected an improvement but was still insufficient to meet Feyenoord's demands.
