Newsroom

Leeds United defender Nico Elvedi has been named in Switzerland's squad for their upcoming November international fixtures. The 30-year-old was selected by head coach Murat Yakin as the Rossocrociati prepare for two UEFA Nations League encounters.
Switzerland will first travel to Maribor to face Slovenia on Friday, November 13, with kick-off at 7:45 PM, before hosting Scotland in St Gallen on Monday, November 16, also kicking off at 7:45 PM. Switzerland currently sits at the top of League B Group B1, holding a five-point advantage over second-placed Slovenia, with Scotland and North Macedonia completing the group.
Elvedi could come up against Leeds United teammate Jaka Bijol when the two nations meet next Friday, with Bijol representing Slovenia at international level. The Slovenia defender has 77 senior caps for his country and has been a regular fixture in the national side over recent months.
Elvedi featured for the full 90 minutes in all four of Switzerland's September and October fixtures, as the Swiss secured victories over North Macedonia twice, Scotland, and Slovenia to maintain their position at the summit of the group.
