Chiefs Confirm Departure of Defender Happy Mashiane
Newsroom
The Kaizer Chiefs announced the departure of defender Happy Mashiane ahead of the start of the new season. Mashiane spent the previous campaign on loan at Siwelele FC, having joined the club at the beginning of the season after finding regular game time hard to come by at Amakhosi in recent years.
The 28-year-old has been part of the Phefeni Glamour Boys’ first-team setup since 2019, when he earned promotion from the club’s reserve side. His departure makes him the second player whose exit has been confirmed by Chiefs this week, following midfielder George Matlou.
The club stated, "Kaizer Chiefs defender Happy Mashiane has left the Club following the mutual termination of his contract."
Mashiane, born in Tembisa, joined the Amakhosi development structures as a teenager before being promoted to the senior team at the start of 2019. He played a significant role in the squad that reached the CAF Champions League final in Morocco in 2021. Primarily operating as a left-back, the 28-year-old has scored four goals for Chiefs. He also spent a spell on loan with Siwelele FC, gaining valuable experience during the 2025/26 season.
The club added, "We sincerely thank Happy for his valuable contribution to Amakhosi and wish him all the best."
