Fernando Tatis Jr. also highlighted the game by stealing his 150th career base in the fourth inning, making a successful steal of third for his 26th of the season.

On the mound, Padres pitcher Bradgley Rodriguez started with a hitless first inning before Yuki Matsui, who recorded his second win of the season, threw 49 pitches across three innings, allowing just one hit and striking out two batters.
