Chelsea completes Morgan Rogers transfer for £117m from Aston Villa

Chelsea confirmed the transfer of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for a reported fee of £117 million. This transfer made him the club's record signing. The deal was finalized on Saturday, July 22, 2026, with the 23-year-old signing a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea managed to secure Rogers's signature despite significant interest from Arsenal, who had been in negotiations with the England international and were seen as the frontrunners for his transfer. A decisive factor for Rogers was the chance to work under new Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso, who joined the club as part of a major overhaul following an underwhelming season.
