NFF to Host FIFA Capacity-Building Programme for Women

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has concluded arrangements for a three-day capacity-building programme for women football administrators in Nigeria, initiated by FIFA. The event will take place from July 17 to July 19, 2026, in Abuja.

A total of six facilitators will deliver papers at the programme. This includes two FIFA women’s football technical experts, Thubaelihle Sibanda and Setlhoko Tsholofelo Candy, alongside four Nigerian experts selected by the NFF. The Nigerian facilitators are: Ms Aisha Falode, who is a Member of the NFF Executive Committee, a Member of the FIFA Media Committee, and a FIFA/CAF Match Commissioner; Professor Mariam Suleiman from Ahmadu Bello University; Dr. Anthonia Chinyere Uwa, a retired chief lecturer at the Nwafor Orizu College of Education in Nsugbe, Anambra State; and Mr. Mohammed Ameenu, a former National League referee who is also a FIFA-trained technical instructor and FIFA-certified safeguarding officer, currently serving as the special assistant to the NFF General Secretary.

The NFF’s Director of Competitions, Ruth David, who is also a FIFA/CAF Match Commissioner, is coordinating the programme.
