SAN FRANCISCO -- Heliot Ramos enjoyed three noteworthy trips around the bases on Monday night. Ramos led off the bottom of the first inning with a Little League home run and then hit two home runs in a more conventional style, contributing to the Giants’ 10-1 victory over the Blue Jays at Oracle Park.
Ramos began his impressive night by driving Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman’s second pitch of the game off the right-center-field wall for a leadoff triple. He jogged home after shortstop Andrés Gimenéz’s relay throw sailed into the third-base dugout, quickly giving the Giants a 1-0 lead.
Continuing his strong performance in the bottom of the sixth, Ramos hit a three-run home run to the opposite field that landed in the right-field arcade, finishing off a five-run rally for the Giants. He capped off his night with another powerful hit in the bottom of the eighth, smacking a two-run home run to left field, marking his first career multihomer game.
Ramos became the first Giants player to record two home runs and a triple in a single game since Pablo Sandoval on September 18, 2011. His standout performance complemented a stellar start from right-hander Landen Roupp, who allowed one run over eight innings, securing his first win since April 26.
