Cardinale travels to Rome for FIGC assembly amid greater Italian focus

Gerry Cardinale stepped up his involvement in AC Milan’s affairs, traveling to Rome on Monday to represent the club at the FIGC’s electoral assembly. This move signaled his intention to be more present in Italian football after a turbulent season that ended without Champions League qualification.
According to SportMediaset, Cardinale attended the assembly at the Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria Hotel on June 22, where the two candidates for the FIGC presidency, Giancarlo Abete and Giovanni Malagò, faced off. New federal councillors were also elected on that day.
This Rome trip is part of a broader shift in approach from the American owner, who showed solidarity with the club by attending Milan’s final two matches of the season: the away game at Genoa and the home defeat to Cagliari. In light of the club's disappointing campaign, his presence was particularly notable.
Having already confirmed Ruben Amorim as the new head coach, Cardinale is now accelerating the search for a sporting director and technical director to complete the new leadership structure at Via Aldo Rossi.
