Alabama Coach Kalen DeBoer Secures 7-Year Extension

The Alabama Board of Trustees approved the new deal on Wednesday, which marks a significant raise from his previous contract that paid him $10.5 million annually.

DeBoer’s extension comes after a tumultuous season for the Crimson Tide, which ended in a disappointing 38-3 loss to Indiana in the Rose Bowl, marking the worst postseason defeat in Alabama's storied football history. Despite this setback, the university has shown confidence in DeBoer, who led the team to the College Football Playoff in 2025 after a missed opportunity in his first season.

The 2025 season was a rollercoaster for Alabama, starting with a loss to Florida State in Week 1, followed by an impressive eight-game winning streak that included victories over formidable opponents like Georgia and Tennessee.
