Dale Earnhardt Jr., a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, has weighed in on the recent spat between Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch. The feud escalated after comments made by Hamlin on his podcast, where he questioned Busch's status as a contender in the NASCAR Cup Series. Hamlin suggested that Busch needs to consistently outperform his teammate, Austin Dillon, to justify his place in a championship-caliber ride next season, as his current contract with Richard Childress Racing is set to expire.

Despite the tension, Hamlin acknowledged Busch's talent, calling him one of the greatest drivers of all time. However, Busch responded with criticism, suggesting that Hamlin should trade cars with him before making further comments. He even claimed he could make Hamlin's racing experience "hell" on the track.

In his podcast, the Dale Jr. Download, Earnhardt expressed his belief that Busch may not have fully understood Hamlin's argument. "I’ll bet you $100,000 his ass ain’t watched the 13 minutes of it," Earnhardt remarked, implying that Busch likely received a biased summary of Hamlin's comments from someone else.

Earnhardt also noted the struggles Busch has faced this season, particularly with a new crew chief, Jim Pohlman, who previously enjoyed success at JR Motorsports. "It’s odd to watch them struggle the way they have," Earnhardt said, highlighting Busch's ongoing difficulties on the track. He pointed out that Busch's performance has not matched that of Dillon, despite the potential for better results.

Earnhardt concluded by reaffirming Busch's status as a Hall of Famer, stating, "Kyle is a first-ballot Hall of Famer. Dude is still a badass race car driver. He’s just not having a good time right now." This sentiment reflects the respect Earnhardt holds for Busch's career, even amidst the current challenges he faces in the NASCAR Cup Series.
