MORRISTOWN, N.J. – On a gray and windy Wednesday morning, Jurgen Klopp experienced a feeling he hadn't felt in a long time. As he stood under a Red Bull-branded umbrella, he reflected on his visit to the newly opened RWJ Barnabas Health Red Bulls Performance Center, a facility that took a decade to build and is designed to house the Red Bulls' first team, MLS Next Pro team, and academy.

Klopp, who currently serves as Red Bull's head of global soccer, admitted that the impressive facility made him consider returning to coaching. "Honestly, this morning was a moment where I walked in and thought, 'Oh, OK. That's something I could miss.' Since stepping down as a manager, I haven't missed anything, but this place is different," he said.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by notable figures, including former Red Bulls players like Thierry Henry and local political leaders such as ex-New Jersey first lady Tammy Murphy. MLS commissioner Don Garber praised Michael Bradley, a former U.S. men's national team member, highlighting his journey from an MLS rookie to a World Cup veteran and now a head coach with the Red Bulls.

The facility boasts eight full-size pitches, high-end recovery rooms, and dedicated spaces for player education, reflecting the Red Bull vision that Klopp has been working to implement since his appointment in January 2025. "To build something special, you need a kind of stability and a place where everyone wants to go. You need a home where everything can start growing, and in soccer, it's no different," Klopp emphasized.

The new performance center is designed to eliminate excuses for players and staff, with its close proximity between the academy and the MLS teams underscoring the project's importance. Under the leadership of Bradley and new sporting director Julian de Guzman, the Red Bulls are poised to maximize the potential of this state-of-the-art facility.
