2026 NBA Draft Order Set: Dybantsa to Wizards, Peterson to Jazz

The order for the 2026 NBA Draft is now established following the lottery results. The Washington Wizards secured the No. 1 overall pick after winning the lottery on May 10, 2026. The Utah Jazz will select second, while the Memphis Grizzlies claimed the third pick. The Chicago Bulls are positioned at No. 4, and the Los Angeles Clippers complete the top five selections.

Currently, AJ Dybantsa is projected to be chosen first by the Wizards. The former BYU standout, known for his scoring ability, looks to revitalize a franchise in need of a fresh start. After Dybantsa, the draft becomes even more compelling as it is filled with potential franchise-altering players throughout the top 10 picks.

Darryn Peterson from Kansas, who was ranked as the No. 1 prospect coming out of high school, may emerge as the best long-term option available in this draft. Despite availability questions, Peterson has triumphed over Dybantsa in past encounters, both during grassroots competitions and in college.

Adding to the intrigue, Carlos Boozer, a former NBA All-Star and current scout for the Jazz, faces an important choice at the No. 2 pick. Utah must decide between selecting Boozer's son, Cameron, Peterson, or North Carolina star Caleb Wilson, who possesses significant long-term potential.

The Indiana Pacers were the biggest losers in the lottery, failing to secure a pick despite having a 14% chance for the No. 1 pick and a 52.1% chance to land in the top four. They ended the day without a lottery pick after finishing the season at 19-63.

Conversely, the Clippers benefited from a protected pick acquired from the Pacers during the Ivica Zubac trade in February. Initially top-four protected, the pick will be conveyed to the Clippers since it landed at fifth—a favorable outcome for L.A.

The NBA Draft marks a significant point in the lead-up to the main event. As of now, the combine is scheduled for next week in Chicago, with the draft slated for June 23-24 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
