Juventus Targets Reijnders and Brahim Diaz for Creativity

Juventus targeted Tijjani Reijnders and Brahim Diaz for improved creativity in the 2026-27 season. The Bianconeri needed more creative options in midfield, and if Bernardo Silva did not arrive, it was reported they would pursue his Manchester City teammate Tijjani Reijnders or Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz. Juventus had struggled to create scoring opportunities throughout the season, and manager Luciano Spalletti expressed disappointment with the current options available to him.

Initially, Bernardo Silva was the top target as a free agent, but it appeared that Atletico Madrid became the favorites to secure his signature, especially if Juventus failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Reijnders and Brahim Diaz were on Juventus' list as alternatives. Tijjani Reijnders, having left AC Milan the previous summer for €55 million plus bonuses, had seen a decline in his playing time at Manchester City, where he contributed seven goals and eight assists in 46 competitive appearances but only started 29 of those matches, with just one start in the last 13 games. The Dutch midfielder might be available on loan with an obligation to buy for €40 million, though his €7 million salary per season posed another concern for the club.

On the other hand, Brahim Diaz, another former Milan player, represented a potentially cheaper option. Diaz had played for AC Milan from 2020 to 2023 before returning to Real Madrid, and his contract was due to expire in June 2027. As Juventus looked for ways to enhance their midfield creativity ahead of the upcoming season, the targeting of Reijnders and Diaz highlighted a strategic approach to fulfilling their needs.
