NFL Announces Record Nine International Games

On May 13, 2026, the NFL unveiled its matchups for a record nine-game international slate, the most ever played outside the United States. Among the matchups announced, the Pittsburgh Steelers are set to play the New Orleans Saints at Stade de France in Paris during Week 7. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has emphasized the league's aim to increase the number of international games to 16 per season.

In addition to the Steelers-Saints game, several other international matchups were previously announced: the San Francisco 49ers will face the Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne, Australia in Week 1; the Baltimore Ravens will play against the Dallas Cowboys in Rio de Janeiro in Week 3; and the Cincinnati Bengals will take on the Atlanta Falcons in Madrid in Week 9.

The complete list of international games for the 2026 NFL season includes:
- Week 1: 49ers vs. Rams in Melbourne
- Week 3: Ravens vs. Cowboys in Rio de Janeiro
- Week 4: Colts vs. Commanders in London
- Week 5: Eagles vs. Jaguars in London
- Week 6: Texans vs. Jaguars in London
- Week 7: Steelers vs. Saints in Paris
- Week 9: Bengals vs. Falcons in Madrid
- Week 10: Patriots vs. Lions in Munich
- Week 11: Vikings vs. 49ers in Mexico City

As of now, Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, currently 42 years old, has not yet confirmed whether he will participate in the upcoming season. However, team members remain optimistic about his return for a second season in Pittsburgh under new head coach Mike McCarthy, who previously coached Rodgers with the Green Bay Packers for 13 seasons.

The league is maintaining its tradition of staging games in London, which will feature three matchups. The Jaguars will play their consecutive home games abroad, first against the Eagles on October 11 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, followed by a game against the Texans on October 18 at Wembley Stadium. The Colts will face the Commanders at Tottenham on October 4.

Other highlights of the schedule include the Lions serving as the home team in Munich against the Patriots on November 15, the Cowboys hosting the Ravens in Rio de Janeiro on September 27, and the Falcons playing at home in Madrid against the Bengals on November 8.

The complete regular-season schedule for 2026 will be released on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET, during a two-hour primetime special to be aired on ESPN.
