Arrow McLaren confirms Scott Dixon and Felix Rosenqvist for 2027 IndyCar

Arrow McLaren officially confirmed a major reshuffle for the 2027 IndyCar season, revealing the signings of six-time series champion Scott Dixon and reigning Indianapolis 500 winner Felix Rosenqvist to multi-year agreements. The arrival of the high-profile duo will complement Pato O’Ward, completing the team’s three-car, full-season lineup. Additionally, Ryan Hunter-Reay, the 2014 Indianapolis 500 winner, will return to the driver’s seat for the team’s fourth car during the 111th Running of the Indianapolis 500 in May 2027.

In a statement, Tony Kanaan, the Team Principal of Arrow McLaren, acknowledged the significant nature of adding drivers of such caliber to the team. He highlighted Scott's accomplishments, referred to Felix as this year’s Indy 500 winner, and noted Hunter-Reay’s experience as invaluable in their pursuit. "We want to be a threat for the championship and the Indianapolis 500," Kanaan stated.

The new lineup features three Indy 500 winners and showcases McLaren Racing’s ambition to claim the prestigious Triple Crown of Motorsport, which includes victories at the Indianapolis 500, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the Monaco Grand Prix.

Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, expressed confidence in the new driver ensemble, stating, "This lineup will strengthen every aspect of our program. We have our eyes set on the championship as well as winning the Indianapolis 500 to secure the Triple Crown in the Papaya era."

Scott Dixon, one of the most decorated drivers in open-wheel racing history, joins Arrow McLaren after securing six IndyCar titles and the 2008 Indianapolis 500 victory. He holds the record for career starts and ranks second all-time with 59 series victories. Dixon expressed his enthusiasm about joining the team and contributing to the legacy of Bruce McLaren.

Felix Rosenqvist, returning to Arrow McLaren after racing for the team from 2021-2023, is fresh off his impressive victory at the Indy 500 — known for being one of the closest finishes in the race’s history. He is looking forward to reuniting with familiar faces in the team and collaborating with both Dixon and Hunter-Reay, acknowledging the collective experience they will bring.

Lastly, Ryan Hunter-Reay, recently appointed as Arrow McLaren’s Sporting Director, brings extensive experience with 296 career starts and 18 victories. He emphasized his commitment to winning the Indy 500, asserting that the team has "unfinished business" in that regard as they prepare for the upcoming season.
