Bafana Bafana's Technical Team Set for Addition

Bafana Bafana is set to welcome a new addition to their technical team. AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwane has emerged as the leading candidate to join Pitso Mosimane's staff as a second assistant coach. This development follows the recent appointment of Mosimane as head coach, announced by the South African Football Association (SAFA) just a week prior. His long-time colleagues Musi Matlaba and Kabelo Rangoago are already part of the technical team.

On Tuesday afternoon, SAFA confirmed that Morena Ramorobeli would be leaving his role as head coach of the Botswana national team to join Mosimane’s technical team as assistant coach, a move that had been reported earlier this July. However, credible sources indicate that the technical team remains incomplete, as additional personnel are sought, with Zwane's name prominently mentioned.

"Mangethe" (Zwane) has demonstrated growth in his coaching career, having initially led Kaizer Chiefs before taking the reins at AmaZulu. His tenure at Usuthu saw him achieving a commendable finish in the top four of the previous season, and he has begun the current season in strong form, sitting fifth with 10 points from ten matches.

Mosimane previously indicated that his technical team was not finalized entirely, noting that some additions could prove complicated due to their commitments to other teams. Ramorobeli was the first to part ways with his responsibilities in Botswana.

The completion of the new Bafana technical team is anticipated before the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea, with the games scheduled to take place on September 26 and 30 at Orlando Stadium and Eritrea, respectively.
