CAF Champions League: Rahimo Believes in a "Miracle" Against MAS Fès

In the CAF Champions League, Rahimo FC remained hopeful for a "miracle" despite losing 4-1 in the first leg against MAS Fès in Morocco. The Burkinabè club hosted MAS Fès on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 15:00 at the Stade du 4 Août for the return match of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
In a pre-match press conference on Friday, coach Saber Abdellaoui and captain Alassane Coulibaly expressed their determination to overcome the three-goal deficit. According to Abdellaoui, the team’s lack of experience in African competitions had a significant impact on their performance in the first match. "The lack of experience from my players in the African campaign weighed heavily on our defeat in Fès. It was quite challenging as the African campaign is demanding," he explained.
Despite the setback, Abdellaoui refused to label qualification as impossible. "Losing 4-1 can always be reversed in football. We call on the public to come out in large numbers to support us," he stated. Coulibaly echoed this sentiment, asserting that Rahimo FC had the ability to react, as shown in Morocco when they closed the gap to 2-1 before succumbing.
"The lack of experience affected our game. But for us, everything is still possible. We need the support of the 12th man," he noted. With three goals to recover, Rahimo FC needs to deliver an exceptional performance to overturn MAS Fès. The Burkinabè team hopes to rely on the support of fans at the Stade du 4 Août to create an upset and extend their journey in the CAF Champions League. The Moroccan side was absent from the press conference.
