In preparation for the upcoming qualifying fixture for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, Interim Head Coach Augustine Eguavoen selected captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, defenders Michelle Alozie and Oluwatosin Demehin, midfielders Christy Ucheibe and Jennifer Echegini, and forwards Gift Monday, among a total of 28 players.

The players were instructed to report at the AM2PM Hotel in Ijebu-Ode on Saturday, 3rd October. The first leg of the qualifying match against Comoros will take place on Friday, 9th October, while Nigeria will host the return leg on Tuesday, 13th October. Both matches are scheduled to be played at the Remo Stars Sports Stadium in Ikenne-Remo since Comoros does not have a CAF-approved venue suitable for international games.

The team also includes young talents such as Christiana Uzoma, Farida Abdulwahab, Tumininu Adeshina, Favour Nkwocha, Shakirat Moshood, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi, and Janet Akekoromowei. Other notable players on the list are defenders Ashley Plumptre and Shukurat Oladipo, midfielder Toni Payne, as well as forwards Asisat Oshoala, Joy Omewa, and Uchenna Kanu.

Victory on aggregate will secure a place in the third round of the five-fixture qualification campaign, which is slated to conclude in December next year.
