Fiorentina considering legal action against Grosso

Fiorentina are reportedly planning to take legal action against former coach Fabio Grosso following his dismissal after three consecutive defeats in the Serie A. The club aimed to initiate disciplinary measures to potentially avoid paying his salary for the remaining duration of his contract. Grosso was sacked late on Sunday night after a disappointing start to the season, which saw Fiorentina lose their first three matches.

In his place, Fiorentina appointed Paolo Vanoli, who had previously been on the coaching staff and was instrumental in helping the team avoid relegation last season after a challenging beginning under Stefano Pioli.

According to multiple reports, including Sky Sport Italia and La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fiorentina’s legal team is examining grounds on which they can justify Grosso's dismissal as being for just cause. Such a justification would enable the club to avoid financial obligations regarding Grosso's salary for the rest of his contract.

It is anticipated that Fiorentina will seek to establish that Grosso had effectively resigned from his position by expressing to director Fabio Paratici that he could not continue due to significant disagreements concerning the transfer strategy. Furthermore, it has been suggested that Grosso even hinted at refusing to report to work at the Viola Park complex the following day, yet he did not formally submit a resignation at any point during this process.
