Jazz, Keyonte George secure $157.5M extension

Sources confirmed that the Utah Jazz and guard Keyonte George reached an agreement on a five-year contract extension worth $157.5 million. This information was reported by ESPN, indicating that the deal does not include any team or player options. The terms of the extension were finalized on Friday after months of negotiations that involved George's agent Jason Ranne of The Team and Jazz president of basketball operations Austin Ainge.

At 22 years old, George was the 16th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and has established himself as a pivotal part of the franchise following a successful breakout season. Last year, he averaged 23.6 points and 6.1 assists per game while shooting 45.6% from the field and 37.1% from three-point range, all of which are career-highs. With this extension, George's salary will represent roughly 16% of Utah's salary cap.
