Scotland's Chloe Rollie made a significant play by intercepting the ball, advancing downfield, and prompting a penalty, which allowed Evie Gallagher to score Scotland's first try. Despite efforts from Gallagher to keep her team in contention with a close-range second try, New Zealand maintained their pressure. Justine McGregor and Elinor-Plum King both added to the score, pushing the gap to 24-14.
