Evanilson praises Bournemouth after big wins over Manchester clubs

Evanilson, the Bournemouth forward, expressed his delight at the club's recent performance, highlighting that in the summer, Bournemouth feels reminiscent of his native Brazil. He particularly celebrated the team's significant victories against Manchester United and AC Milan.

Evanilson scored a stunning goal during a 3-0 win over Manchester United, marking Bournemouth's fourth consecutive win without conceding a goal. The victory also represented the third time in four seasons that Bournemouth had triumphed at Old Trafford with the same scoreline. He described the goal as difficult yet beautiful, noting that he managed to find the perfect angle despite the challenging wind conditions.

This remarkable week for Bournemouth also saw Evanilson's flicked header lead to a penalty that contributed to a prior 3-0 win over AC Milan in the Europa League. At 27 years old, Evanilson reflected on the importance of these victories, stating, "For our club, for all the players, beating two world giants is always very special."

His goal at Old Trafford was his fourth in five games, coming just after attaining his 100th career goal against Sunderland. When asked to rate the goal, he proclaimed it one of the most beautiful he had scored, especially due to the significance of the match.

Looking forward, Evanilson hopes to earn a call-up to the Brazilian national team, as Carlo Ancelotti is set to announce his squad. Despite having only two caps since 2024, he feels this might be his opportunity due to the current injury and form issues affecting other potential strikers.

“No doubt, I’m always thinking about the national team,” he said, expressing the ambition shared by many players to represent their country.

Bournemouth had faced challenges earlier in the season under new manager Marco Rose, who took time to find his footing following Andoni Iraola's departure after leading the team to historical heights. Under Rose's guidance, Evanilson has been instrumental, delivering four goals and four assists across 11 matches in both the Premier League and Europa League.

Reflecting on his approach to the game, Evanilson emphasized his dedication to teamwork and the importance of pressing high up the field, contributing to the team's current winning streak. With the club’s recent success, he is optimistic about maintaining momentum throughout the season.
