Neville exposes Manchester United crisis: "Carrick will feel disgust"

Gary Neville criticized Manchester United's management during the ongoing crisis and stated, "Carrick will feel disgust and revulsion for his players." The future of Michael Carrick as the Manchester United head coach came under scrutiny following a 0-3 defeat at home against Bournemouth, which saw Bruno Fernandes, whom Neville labeled a "traitor," benched. The loss marked the team's eighth consecutive game without a victory, their worst streak since the 2015-16 season. Carrick acknowledged the situation, saying, "The responsibility is mine. What more can I say at this moment? I fully understand the situation. I expect nothing specific, in any sense. I love this club and will always do what I think is best for the institution." The BBC reported that the club's directors are already engaged in serious discussions about Carrick's future, with Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann emerging as frontrunners to replace him.
Neville accused some Manchester United players of lacking professionalism, stating, "There are some players who do not go to bed at the right time, do not eat what they should... Why? Because success has gone to their heads. They are nothing." He described Carrick as a "dead man walking," insinuating that he would not last long in his coaching role.
With only seven points from eight league games, Manchester United's performance has left them in 16th place in the Premier League, 14 points behind the leaders. Neville expressed his belief that Carrick would not last another 24 hours due to the poor results, saying, "Carrick will look at those players with disgust. He will feel disgust for some of them. Some are not professional enough." The criticism extended to the club's management, particularly targeting Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada for a lack of experience in their roles. Neville declared, "Fans have turned against Jason Wilcox in the second half. He should not be in this position; he is unprepared for such crucial decisions in one of the biggest football clubs in the world." He remarked that the poor management structure has detrimental effects on the team and predicted Carrick's likely dismissal in the forthcoming hours.
"The players have turned against him. If Bruno Fernandes is publicly clashing with him, imagine what is happening behind the scenes," Neville stated, emphasizing the severity of the situation. He concluded that many players are not living up to the professional standards expected at Manchester United, as their success has led to a decline in their commitment to the club.
