RDC: Final rejection of Aigles du Congo's appeal, TP Mazembe secures points
Newsroom

The long-standing legal battle that has rocked the Illicocash Ligue 1 over the past few months reached its final resolution. The disciplinary and litigation commission (CDC) of FECOFA issued its official decision No. 013 following a complaint lodged by FC Les Aigles du Congo after the clash on June 11 in Lubumbashi. Although the commission deemed the Kinois' approach formally acceptable, it ruled that the substance was unfounded, thereby definitively confirming the result achieved on the field in favor of the Badiangwenas.
At the heart of the dispute, the leaders of Aigles du Congo raised allegations of supposed fraud regarding the identity and eligibility of Chadrack Bingi Belo, who was fielded by the Lushue team. They specifically questioned the validity of his license and highlighted inconsistencies regarding his date of birth across different administrative documents. Nonetheless, the Corbeaux camp proved that the player’s registration had been carried out correctly during the exceptional period granted on April 29, 2026, and that the absence of a physical document generated by FIFA Connect resulted from a technical malfunction of the platform recognized by the federation.
In its findings, the disciplinary body led by Jean-Ruffin Ekabela Mundongia noted that a failure to present a license cannot result in a points deduction without irrefutable proof of cheating. Considering the discrepancies in dates as mere material errors without any effect on the player's eligibility, FECOFA confirmed the legitimacy of the current standings. Consequently, FC Les Aigles du Congo's claims were definitively dismissed, allowing TP Mazembe to retain valuable points and peace of mind in the title race.
