Warriors’ Stephen Curry pitches a perfect game in big win over the Nuggets

The Golden State Warriors secured their first win of the season on Monday night, defeating the Denver Nuggets 134-114 at Ball Arena. Yaxel Lendeborg starred for the Warriors, scoring 31 points and securing 12 rebounds. This performance helped the Warriors avoid their first 0-4 start since the 2007-08 season.

Stephen Curry contributed significantly to the victory, finishing with 24 points, three rebounds, and two assists. He showcased remarkable shooting efficiency, making all eight of his field-goal attempts, which included a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. Furthermore, he successfully converted all five of his free-throw attempts, effectively pitching a perfect game. This marked only the second time in Curry's career that he finished a game shooting 100% from the field, with his first occurrence dating back to 2011 when he scored 14 points on 5-of-5 shooting against the New Orleans Hornets.

Despite the Nuggets' defensive efforts to limit his impact, including blitzing him on ball screens, Curry managed to find gaps to exploit, allowing him to facilitate scoring opportunities for his teammates. His presence on the floor significantly enhanced the offensive flow, enabling rookie Yaxel Lendeborg to thrive throughout the game.

Following this win, the Warriors are expected to face another tough challenge as they prepare to play the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday in a road game. The game will be crucial as the Warriors look to build momentum after securing their first victory of the season.
