Baptiste Veistroffer Completes 2,500km Charity Bikepacking Ride

Baptiste Veistroffer, a rider for Lotto-Intermarché, embarked on a 2,500km charity ride across Vietnam and Cambodia beginning on November 13, 2026. The journey aimed to raise €5,000 for the non-profit organization MolemBIKE, which supports cycling initiatives in Molenbeek, Brussels. Veistroffer planned to cover the distance over 21 days, intending to document each mile he rode and the experiences he encountered along the way, sharing updates through social media.

Previously, Veistroffer became well-known during the 2026 Tour de France for his aggressive racing style, frequently launching attacks on flat stages, despite his chances of winning being slim. He had notable performances in stages 5 and 7 of the Tour and received two combativity awards. His season culminated at the Tour of Guangxi, where he won the mountain classification jersey.

In 2026, he participated in nearly 3,000 kilometers of breakaways and logged over 32,000 kilometers on Strava. His love for bikepacking adventures extended to previous years, including a 2,500-km expedition in Thailand and a nearly 2,300-kilometre tour through California and Nevada in 2024. Veistroffer described this year's project as a solidarity adventure, hoping to raise funds while enjoying the experience. He planned to involve the public by providing updates and a fundraising total that would be updated daily as he rode through Southeast Asia.
