Brewers Shine on Saturday Night Live with Yelich, Turang, Murphy

MILWAUKEE -- Live from New York, it’s the World Series champs! The Brewers’ Christian Yelich, Brice Turang, and manager Pat Murphy made a collective cameo during Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update, convincing the recurring character Drunk Uncle that yes, a team named for beermaking really did win the World Series.
In a nod to Yelich’s previous appearance on SNL during his time with the Marlins, returning cast member Bobby Moynihan humorously remarked, “Hey, wait a minute. You’re Pete Davidson, right?”
The Brewers’ appearance is not unprecedented. Brewers radio broadcaster Bob Uecker hosted episode two of season 10 on Oct. 13, 1984, renowned back then for his Miller Lite advertisements and regular roles on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.
The highlight of Saturday Night Live was the playful interaction between the Brewers players and the comedic elements brought by the show, underlining the connection between sports and entertainment.
