Chivu: 'Inter showed our best version' in 3-0 win

Cristian Chivu stated that Inter showcased ‘the best version of ourselves’ in their 3-0 UEFA Champions League victory over Feyenoord on November 3, 2026. Chivu highlighted that ‘consistency is what brings results’ after his team faced significant pressure following a previous 3-1 defeat to Milan in the Derby della Madonnina.

The Nerazzurri delivered an impressive performance in Rotterdam, responding assertively to their recent loss. They dominated the match against Feyenoord, who previously triumphed 3-2 over Como and maintained a strong home record. Goals from Yann Bisseck, Francesco Pio Esposito, and Piotr Zielinski secured the win. Although Esposito had another goal ruled offside by mere inches, the match was seen as comfortable overall.

Chivu noted that Inter has previously been criticized for slow starts and mentioned that it had been since August since they scored in the opening eight minutes of a match. He reflected on the team’s improvement during the match, stating, “We have certain values, we understood certain things and put them on the pitch.” Chivu also conveyed that the squad had comprehensive discussions after each match, aiming to rectify errors and enhance strengths.

"That doesn’t mean we haven’t done well so far this season," Chivu added. "We tried to be the best version of ourselves, it worked today with organization, intensity and everything we needed for a strong performance in a stadium that is not easy to play in."

The manager emphasized the need for consistency throughout the match. Acknowledging past difficulties in maintaining performance levels, he remarked, "Consistency is what brings results, it gives you self-confidence and belief in what you are doing. This game gives us a big boost of confidence in what we are building."

Following this victory, Inter moved up in the Champions League standings but still faced challenges, holding only six points from four matches. Chivu recognized that securing a spot in the next round would require sustained effort as they continue to fight for their position.
