No. 9 LSU achieved a historic 131-22 victory over Texas Southern on November 5, 2026, marking the largest win in women’s Division I history against a Division I opponent, according to ESPN Research. The 109-point margin surpassed Baylor's previous record of 140-32, set against Winthrop on December 15, 2016, with the Baylor team being led by the current LSU coach, Kim Mulkey.
The Lady Tigers executed a dominant 50-0 run during the second and third quarters, the largest against a Division I opponent since Mulkey took over LSU in the 2021-22 season. This remarkable run included a 40-0 stretch in the second quarter, which is the second-largest shutout quarter since Division I switched to a quarter system in 2015-16, trailing only Texas Southern's 44-0 quarter in 2024.
Jada Williams, a transfer from Iowa State, led the scoring with 18 points and was part of a group of seven players who recorded double-digit scores. Freshman Anna Minaeva led with 21 points, while Mikaylah Williams added 20 points, and ZaKiyah Johnson contributed 17 points. Grace Knox and MiLaysia Fulwiley each scored 15 points, and Lola Lampley finished with 10 points. Williams had a slow start, remaining scoreless in the first quarter, but made 6 of 7 shots, including three 3-pointers, in eight minutes during the second quarter. Fulwiley and Knox also pitched in with six points apiece.
Texas Southern, which is now 0-2, was led by Jayla Cornelius with six points. The team struggled significantly, shooting only 13% (8 of 55) from the field and committing 38 turnovers, which allowed LSU to dominate with a staggering 55-0 advantage in points off turnovers.
In a ceremonial moment, LSU presented flowers to former All-American Angel Reese, who played a key role in the Lady Tigers’ first national championship in 2022. Reese was this year's WNBA Defensive Player of the Year and participated in the Atlanta Dream’s first appearance in the WNBA championship series. The Associated Press contributed to this report.
