Arsenal strengthen title grip with another win
League leaders Arsenal continue to impress. With a 4-1 win at home against Aston Villa, Arsenal recorded yet another victory. This means the team has extended their lead in the Premier League and the gap to second placed Manchester City is now five points. However, Manchester City have one game in hand. Aston Villa are in third place in the league.
The first half was goalless, but straight after half-time, Gabriel Magalhães made his mark as he netted to give Arsenal the lead.
Straight after the break, Martín Zubimendi made his mark and increased the team's lead.
In the 69th minute, Leandro Trossard increased the lead for Arsenal, with an assist by Jurriën Timber.
Gabriel Jesus increased Arsenal's lead with an assist by Leandro Trossard, in the 78th minute.
The goal that reduced the score to 4-1 came in stoppage time, when Ollie Watkins found the net for Aston Villa.
The result means Arsenal claimed a fourth win in a row, and at the same time Aston Villa's eight games winning streak was broken.
After taking points in eight straight games, Aston Villa suffered defeat.
