Liverpool's winning run ended after game against Crystal Palace
"I think [the first half] was the best half since I arrived. When you play the champions you always know you can slide back and they score late goals. The second half there was immense pressure and we were lucky in one or two situations," Palace's Oliver Glasner said following the win.
Liverpool's run of five straight wins in the Premier League ended away to Crystal Palace. Saturday's game at Selhurst Park finished 2-1.
"But we kept our heads up and turned the momentum again. It makes me really proud of the group. It was such a team effort today."
Crystal Palace started the match best and took the lead when Ismaïla Sarr netted after 9 minutes, making it 1-0.
Crystal Palace play Everton on 5 October, AFC Bournemouth on 18 October and Arsenal (away) on 26 October. Liverpool's next opponents are Chelsea on 4 October, Manchester United on 19 October and Brentford (away) on 25 October.
The equaliser came in the final minutes, when Federico Chiesa found the net for Liverpool.
The deciding goal came in extra time, when Eddie Nketiah scored for Crystal Palace, with an assist by Marc Guéhi.
Crystal Palace are now in second place, while Liverpool are still at the top of the table. Three points separate the teams. Crystal Palace are 3 points behind Liverpool.
