After enduring a five-game drought, Liverpool has finally secured a much-needed victory in the Premier League, defeating Newcastle United 4-1 and reigniting their season.
Newcastle United broke the deadlock in the 36th minute with a goal from Anthony Gordon.
Liverpool equalised 1-1 just before the half-time whistle as Hugo Ekitiké netted, with an assist by Florian Wirtz.
Liverpool took the lead just two minutes later when Hugo Ekitiké scored again. This time he found the net, with an assist by Milos Kerkez.
In the 67th minute, Florian Wirtz increased the lead for Liverpool, with an assist by Mohamed Salah.
The 4-1 goal came in extra time, when Ibrahima Konaté scored for Liverpool.
The next Premier League games for Liverpool are Manchester City (home) on 8 February, Sunderland (away) on 11 February and Nottingham Forest (away) on 21 February. Newcastle United play Brentford (home) on 7 February, Tottenham Hotspur (away) on 10 February and Manchester City (away) on 21 February.
