Rayo Vallecano Blames Carreras del Rayismo Organization for Damage in Vallecas
Newsroom

Rayo Vallecano issued a lengthy statement in response to accusations spread by the X account @carrerarayismo, directly blaming the organization of the VII Carrera del Rayismo for the damages caused at Vallecas Stadium.
The club explained that the Community of Madrid formally requested the use of the stadium on March 9 to host the sports event on June 13 and 14. From the outset, the club expressed reservations about the possibility of the race finishing inside the stadium, emphasizing the need to protect the grass and playing field, particularly given the issues encountered during the season.
Rayo stated that on June 2, it received communication from the Community of Madrid guaranteeing that runners would enter the stadium through Gate 16 and finish behind one of the goals, without stepping onto the playing field at any time. However, it contended that this commitment was violated by the organization, allowing massive access of thousands of participants onto the turf.
The Madrid club asserted that it had previously warned the Community of Madrid about the risks arising from organizing the event and claimed to be the main victim of the incidents, both due to the damage to the grass and the alleged improper use of its corporate symbols.
Finally, Rayo Vallecano announced that it reserved the right to undertake any legal actions deemed appropriate to defend its interests and seek compensation for the economic and patrimonial damages it estimates to have suffered due to the reported events.
