Solid Victory for Liverpool as West Ham United Fails to Score
Liverpool showcased their attacking prowess as they netted two goals in the Premier League encounter against West Ham United at London Stadium. The away side cruised to a convincing 2-0 victory, leaving West Ham United unable to find the back of the net.
The first half finished 0-0 and it took until the 60th minute before Alexander Isak netted, with an assist by Cody Gakpo, to give Liverpool the lead.
"I'm aware that it has been a long time coming and I have been trying to get back to my best form. I'm still on the way but I am happy to get that goal," Liverpool's Alexander Isak said after his maiden goal for the club.
West Ham United's Lucas Paquetá was sent off in the 84th minute.
"The best feeling today is that we win the game and that is the best way to get a good spirit in the group but of course I am a striker so scoring goals will always help me," he added.
The 2-0 goal came in stoppage time, when Cody Gakpo found the net for Liverpool, with an assist by Joe Gomez.
Liverpool are in eighth place after the game, while West Ham United are in 17th.
West Ham United's next Premier League games are against Manchester United (away) on 4 December, Brighton & Hove Albion (away) on 7 December and Aston Villa (home) on 14 December. Liverpool play Sunderland (home) on 3 December, Leeds United (away) on 6 December and Brighton & Hove Albion (home) on 13 December.
