Wolverhampton Wanderers Ends eight-Game Winless Streak with 2-0 Victory Over Aston Villa
Wolverhampton Wanderers has broken their dry spell in the Premier League with a resilient 2-0 win over Aston Villa, marking their first victory in eight games and signaling a return to form.
The first half finished 0-0 and it took until the 61st minute before João Gomes netted, with an assist by Adam Armstrong, to give Wolverhampton Wanderers the lead.
The 2-0 goal came in stoppage time, when Rodrigo Gomes found the net for Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The result brings no change for the teams in terms of league position: Wolverhampton Wanderers in 20th and last place and Aston Villa in third.
"It was a special moment in a really difficult season. It's nice to be able to show some emotion and build that connection that we're desperate to do. That's why I came in on nights like that. Really special moments. That's a moment that will live with me forever." Wolves boss Rob Edwards said in a press conference.
Wolverhampton Wanderers play Liverpool on 3 March, Brentford on 16 March and West Ham United (away) on 11 April. Aston Villa's next opponents are Chelsea on 4 March, Manchester United on 15 March and West Ham United (home) on 22 March.
