Simba Secures Former Stellenbosch FC Midfielder

Newsroom

Steve Barker’s Simba SC secured the signing of former Stellenbosch FC midfielder Ibraheem Jabaar ahead of the 2026/27 campaign. iDiski Times closely followed the communication between Simba and Jabaar over the past few weeks and can now confirm that personal terms were agreed upon between the two parties, with only a few signatures remaining before Jabaar is officially announced by Simba.

The 23-year-old made 29 appearances last season for Stellenbosch, scoring two goals and providing two assists. His exit from the Cape Winelands outfit wasn’t easy, as the club had previously engaged in talks with him regarding a new contract, but both sides failed to reach an agreement.

Jabaar joins a familiar coach, having worked with Barker at Stellenbosch for several seasons. He will also reunite with several players, including Anicet Aoura, Ismaël Olivier Toure, and Rushine De Reuck, while Neo Maema’s loan spell is coming to an end.

Simba is set to play in the Federation Cup final this weekend against Azam, where they will have the chance to win their second trophy of the season after narrowly missing the league title by three points on the final day.
