Content creators like Wismichu and AuronPlay had made remarks that Mateo described as extreme, admitting that the insults were so severe he could not repeat them in a current livestream.

The singer, known for songs like 'Sigo a lo mío', explained that during that time, he took the criticisms with humor alongside his brother. However, as time passed, he began to understand the real impact those comments had on his personal well-being. His emotional response evolved significantly as he matured. While he had memorized the scripts of the videos that parodied him during his childhood, he later felt the need to question the origins of that treatment and the effects it had on his identity, ultimately leading to a desire to publicly close that chapter of his life.

Six years later, after a long silence regarding his feelings, Abraham Mateo confirmed that AuronPlay reached out to him via Instagram to apologize for his past content. Mateo read the message from the Catalan YouTuber verbatim: "Greetings, mate, I just want you to know that those were different times and if I had known something bothered you, I would have removed it immediately." In the same message, the YouTuber expressed that he felt bad to learn, six years later, that his videos had somehow affected the singer.

Mateo stated that he holds no resentment and chose to respond to AuronPlay in a reconciliatory manner: "There is no hate or resentment here, I just want to let people know that these things made me better and pushed me forward."
