Geerike Schreurs Wins The Gralloch, Lukas Pöstlberger Continues Streak

In the UCI Gravel World Series, Geerike Schreurs (Specialized Off-road) secured victory at The Gralloch in Scotland on 17 May 2026. Following an early sprint, Schreurs outpaced her rivals to finish in first place. This success came just weeks after she placed third in The Traka 360. Schreurs managed to edge out Karolina Migoń in the final sprint, finishing two seconds ahead. Her PAS Racing teammate, Wendy Oosterwoud, took third place, finishing more than a minute behind.

In the men's category, Lukas Pöstlberger (Rose Racing Circle) also claimed a solo win. After breaking away early in the race alongside Jenson Young (Ribble Outliers) and Michael Woods, Pöstlberger maintained a lead for most of the event. Despite a strong pursuit from other riders, Young, who had to deal with a puncture late in the race, ultimately finished in second place. Young expressed his surprise at his performance, stating, "Very cool to show what I can do at a home race whilst racing alongside a few legends of the sport."

The Ascent of The Gralloch covered 111 kilometers and featured over 1,761 meters of elevation. More than 80% of the course was gravel, winding through the beautiful lochs and rugged terrains of Galloway Forest Park.

The race began with a tense atmosphere as the top contenders quickly established themselves. For the women, Schreurs, Migoń, and Danielle Shrosbree led the pack early on, but it was Schreurs and Migoń who then pulled away. "Karolina put a high pace down on the climb, and I was the only one who could follow and we worked well together," Schreurs remarked about her tactic during the race.

The event was crucial for the riders in the UCI Gravel World Series, as the top 25% in each category would qualify for the prestigious rainbow jersey races during the Gravel World Championships, scheduled for October 10-11 in Nannup, Western Australia.
