In the Asian Games final held in Nagoya, Japan, India triumphed over Pakistan by 19 runs to clinch the gold medal. India batted first, posting a formidable score of 211-6 in their 20 overs, led by blazing half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma. Abhishek scored 61 runs off just 28 balls, hitting seven sixes, and provided an explosive start for the team. By the end of the powerplay, India had reached 81-2, with Abhishek leading the charge before he was dismissed in the eighth over. Tilak contributed an unbeaten 51 runs from 22 deliveries, which included three fours and four sixes, maintaining the aggressive momentum through to the end of the innings.
Pakistan faced immediate challenges in their chase, stumbling to 39-3 at one stage. Despite an impressive innings from Hasan Nawaz, who scored 96 runs off 51 balls and struck seven sixes, Pakistan fell short, finishing at 192-6. Nawaz's effort was commendable but ultimately solitary, as he holed out on the last ball of the match. India's wickets were shared among their bowlers, with Axar Patel and Washington Sundar both taking 2-29 and Shivam Dube adding 2-33.
With this victory, India secured back-to-back gold medals, having previously won four years ago in Hangzhou, China during their debut in the men's competition.
